~ About Cascade Mountain Labradoodles ~
Cascade Mountain Labradoodles is located in the small college town of Ellensburg, Washington, about an hour and a half from Seattle and three hours from Spokane. Our home is on four acres about 10 miles from town, kid friendly, horse friendly and, of course, dog friendly.
Our Labradoodles are raised with lots of love and attention by my husband and I and our two young daughters. We enjoy camping and horseback riding, and include all the animals in our outings.
We first fell in love with the Labradoodle breed in early 2005 and, like many of you, decided we just had to have one. Our first Australian Labradoodle, Rutlands Cascade Dream, aka Cassie, arrived from Australia in the fall of 2005 and was everything we had hoped for and more; she was intuitive, loving, athletic, goofy… all the characteristics we humans love so much about dogs wrapped in to one snuggly package of silky soft, curly, and non-shedding fur. We were not able to use Cassie as a breeder, but she is our #1 public relations girl and the beloved pet of our daughters. We added a miniature Australian Labradoodle female to our program in 2007 and I am constantly amazed at how athletic “Lil Gem” is… a big dog in a small package is such a fitting description. Miniature definitely does not mean fragile and Gem certainly comes out ahead in many of her wrestling matches with our standard Labradoodle Cassie.
Our hope for our kennel is to be able to represent the Australian Labradoodle in the most positive way possible. We want all of our Labradoodle puppies to go to families who will love them forever and become ambassadors of the breed. The Australian Labradoodle is an amazing animal… I was hooked while doing my research on the breed back in 2005, and two years and two Labradoodles later, I can definitely say I am sold on this breed.
I encourage you to research online, talk to other owners, go to a Labradoodle romp in your area, stop that family you see walking what looks like a Labradoodle in the park and ask questions. I love to talk “Labradoodle” and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
